Color test results...
Okay, I finally broke under the immense pressure and took the colorgenics test. I'm posting the results here because they're sort of interesting, and while I can't say they're particularly insightful they do resonate with me to a small degree. Maybe one of the lurking psych majors (hi, girls) have something to say on the validity of these tests?

While I don't usually post poll results and find them annoying in general, I have to tip my hat to the absolute speed with which this particular meme has propagated. At least I find the results in this test to be slightly more meaningful than "Which Sea Slug Are You?"

It's time for lunch. I want to go home and sleep, my stomach isn't interested in food.

At this time you are feeling "Up tight" and you are urgently in need of rest and relaxation. But perhaps even more than that you need to overcome that feeling that you have been "hard done by" and treated with a complete lack of consideration. Maybe you have, but whatever may have been the cause of your inherent anxiety, you regard the situation as intolerable. But you are sufficiently competent to turn that situation around. You have indeed overcome similar problems in the past - and really - this one isn't too different.

At this time you "need to be needed" and again you "need to need". You have had this feeling for some time now and you are looking for someone who could share a close bond in an atmosphere of shared intimacy. You have that belief that with the right person you could conquer the world.

Nothing seems to be going right for you, and you are thwarted every way you turn. You are not at all happy with the situation but it would appear that there is very little that you can do about it at this time...Sit back...let the situation take its course, because at this time you feel that there is nothing you can do to change whatever needs to be changed.

You pretend that you are a carefree individual and that nothing really bothers you .. that you are so self-sufficient that whatever problems beset you - they simply flow off you as water flows of a ducks back... You are experiencing considerable stress, trying to conceal yourself from the rest of the world. In actual fact - deep down, you are not at all happy. You feel lonely and you need someone with whom you can "Let your hair down" and share your hopes, dreams and high standards... You are imposing unnecessary self restraint on yourself. You would like to demonstrate the unique quality of your character to all and sundry.

Since in the recent past all of your hopes and aspirations gave been denied you, you are now convinced that the future will hold nothing but anxiety... so therefore... "why bother?" You would love to get away from it all, to escape from the trials and tribulations of this mundane existence and fall into a peaceful and harmonious relationship, which will protect you from the lack of appreciation and give you the chance to start afresh..

I'm not usually a fan of these silly personality tests, but I like the novel approach this one has. I was impressed by my own profile, which seemed to be extremely accurate.

Sea Slugs!

I'm a Spanish Shawl! *ehem* Okay, I don't think there is a personality test for sea slugs, but I love nudibranchs. 'specially the Spanish Shawl. How cool is it to be able to eat something that kills other things, and then take that creature's defense mechanism and use it for your own defense?

(Spanish Shawl eat sea anemones and then use their pneumaticists [stinging cells] for their own defense. Kinda like eating a tiger, and then having tiger-teeth on your back!)

This marine biology lesson has been brought to you by the letters N and B and the number six.

Re: Sea Slugs!

You know its a good entry when your friends' comments include the term "nudibranch".

Just for good measure, I'm going to add "cephalopod" to the terms used here, just because I can.

(BTW, Feren -- certainly seems to ring a bit true, doesn't it? My results were almost creepy. Whether or not the test actually works as opposed to blanketing everyone with generalization, it's still interesting.)
