How does Feren celebrate his 28th birthday?
Today was my 28th birthday. Being that it had been such a quiet, easy going day... I did something impulsive before going out to dinner with lady_curmudgeon, roho and enveri.

Before I got into the shower and prepared to drive up to BD's Mongolian BBQ for dinner with my girlfriend and my two best friends, well, I got a bit of a wild hair and decided to finish off the work that Mother Nature has been performing on me for the last 13 years.

Gentlemen..... behold!

It was pretty easy. Got the beard trimmer, took the adjustable guard off and went to town like that scene in Full Metal Jacket. I had some second thoughts after the first pass, but by then I was committed so I just finished the job. I think it turned out nice! If people want I'll be sure to report back the reaction I get at work tomorrow.

BTW -- dinner was delicious and the company delightful. lady_curmudgeon even surprised me by giving me a big gift bag overflowing with little trinkets and fun gifts and mushy cards for my birthday. She knows better but I guess I wasn't going to stop her... and it was very sweet, regardless.

I'm not a lonely man

I think it's a good look for you, actually. You look much younger.

Thanks, dude.

[You look much younger.]

The irony of that statement is reinforced by the fact that as I get older I do progressively more aggressive things to the length of my hair. Remember, it was in 2002 I grew the beard and then 2003 is when I started cutting the top completely short. In 2005 I went to #2 razor for every haircut instead of doing layering and all that.

Just to jump on what I'm sure is going to be a popular sentiment bandwagon, I'll say it again: Very awesome. The beard + bald thing is definitely cool in my books.

And again, happy b-day :)

That icon cracks me the hell up! But I appreciate the sentiment.

As I said on FM, I just wish the mustache would get thicker. Damn my father for hoarding all his thick-mustache DNA.

Oh My Gawd! You actually did it!

You do remind me a bit of Joker from the Island. Just don't come in to work tomorrow singing "Gooood bye $employer, Hello Vietnam".

Hey man, it is what my father did, he figured since it is all going away anyway why keep the pretense of hair around and so he just shaved it all off, well except the facial hair.

Happy Birthday dude.

You know, just a little more work and you would be perfect as RiffRaff in Rocky Horror! Can you Time Warp?

Seriously, a brave step and you pulled it off well! It's a good look for you.

I'd pay good money to see him do the time warp...

Who needs hair when there's so much cool headgear out there to protect one's brain from freezing or melting?

Happy Birthday!

Bwa haha.
